Marianne Magne

 

Artiste Plastique et vidéaste expérimentale Marianne Magne met en oeuvre des installations multimédia ou convergent biologie et technologie. Son travail propose une ontologie imaginaire de l’évolution des especes. Un recyclage perpetuel de la figure humaine. En partant d’une photographie du corps humain, les différents media, dessins, collages, griffures, émulsions brulées, altèrent l’integrité de la figure pour exposer les reseaux sous-cutannés. Cette deuxieme generation d’images est ensuite scannée. Au cours des manipulations digitales la figure humaine disparait, elle devient abstraction, occurrence organique. Les cycles evolutifs donnent naissance à une généalogie fictive d’espèces qui auraient pu être tout en extrapolant sur les espèces à venir.

- SMC [Santa Monica Community College, CA] independent studies in editing, digital media, Cibachrome printing, sculpting, 1995 through 2003.

GRANTS
- Durfee Arc Grant, 2004
to support the completion of “Morphotropy, an inventory of seldom observed species” a video installation, using the walls and floor of the gallery to create a seamless multidimensional environment. The piece was featured in BioBallistic, at Barnsdall LA Municipal Gallery.
